Gillian is a trusted advisor with strong analytical skills. She always strives to provide clients with practical yet strategic solutions.
She has That® passion for IP law and had her first foray into IP practice soon after she graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Commerce in 2010. She was called to the bar in 2013.
Since then, Gillian has gained broad-based experience and knowledge in providing strategic legal advice on contentious and non-contentious IP matters, with a particular focus on trade mark prosecution and global portfolio management.
Gillian played a key role in the successful representation of clients in several contentious IP matters, including:
Global Yellow Pages Ltd v. Promedia Directories Pte Ltd [2017] SGCA 28 (Successful defence in a landmark decision of the Court of Appeal on Compilation Copyright, Databases, Substantial Similarity, Infringement and even Fair Dealing - see reported judgement)

Away from the desk, Gillian is a voracious reader, Netflix binge-watcher, and occasional baker.
